Само собой разумеется (it goes without saying), что просто прочитав , поняв и усвоив какое-либо правило, вовсе не означает, что вы можете использовать его на практике. Любой раздел грамматики надо отработать на тренировочных упражнениях. Сами по себе эти тренировочные упражнения “узкой” направленности, другими словами вы находитесь в одном грамматическом поле. Такие упражнения можно назвать техническими. В реальной жизни вы используете весь спектр правил, поэтому следует также научиться определять в потоке речи или написанных предложений, по какой грамматике переводить то или иное предложение, то есть следовать АЛГОРИТМУ ПЕРЕВОДА .
Начинать тренировку надо с самого простого. Если правило касается грамматического времени, как в нашем случае, то надо просто научиться ставить английские предложения в отрицательную и вопросительные формы, ну и переводить все на родной язык. Например:
Дано утвердительное предложение : I am reading now. (+) = Я читаю сейчас.
Ставим его в отрицательную и вопросительные формы и читаем вслух и переводим.
I am not reading now. (-) = Я не читаю сейчас.
Am I reading now? (?) = Читаю ли я сейчас?
Итак, несколько предложений на отработку.
1. He is still writing his composition.
2. They are playing tennis in the yard.
3. She is waiting for you downstairs.
4. This pupil is writing an exercise on the blackboard.
5. They are talking and laughing loudly.
6. My mother is doing her shopping.
7. She is wearing a funny hat.
8. His granny is making a chocolate cake.
9. The teacher is hanging the map at the blackboard.
10. The students are writing a dictation now.
11. Listen! Mary is singing in the next room.
12. Look! John and Helen are hurrying to the theatre.
13. Ann is playing the piano in her room.
14. Listen! The pupils are discussing an interesting problem.
15. Jane is watering the flowers on the balcony now.
16.The teacher is explaining the rule to the pupils.
17. She is making coffee in the kitchen.
18. It is seven o’clock. Mother is cooking breakfast.
19. Look at my little brother! He is reading a book.
20. Don’t be noisy. Mother is sleeping.
21. Wait a minute ! I am putting on my coat.
22. It’s quarter to eight. Mr. Smith and his wife are watching TV.
23. Mother and Jane are in the kitchen. Mother is cooking dinner.
24. David and Kate are in the garden. David is repairing the fence. Kate is watering the flowers.
25. Where is Dan? — Dan is in class. He is drawing a picture.
26. Look! She is smiling.
27. He is speaking English now.
28. They are dancing in the hall.
29. My son is doing his homework.
30 . We are going home.
